CAPTURING KIDS' HEARTS

Over the summer, teacher's were trained in the Capturing Kids' Hearts philosophy of classroom management:

"If you have a child's heart, you have their head."

The purpose of the training is to enhance the strengths of a teacher's personal style of teaching to create a classroom where trust, respect and caring are the climate to make their professional relationships with students flourish.  Through the use of social contracts, positive reinforcement and handshakes, teachers will be able to:

• Develop safe, trusting, self-managing classrooms
• Improve classroom attendance by building students' motivation and helping them take responsibility for their actions and performance
• Decrease delinquent behaviors
• Reinforce emotional intelligence in teaching
• Develop students' empathy for diverse cultures and backgrounds
